What Is It?

Midnight Museum is a project from my Junior year Rapid Prototyping class. We're given teams of ~10 and 4 weeks to create prototypes to expand on in our Senior capstone.

Midnight Museum puts the player in a museum full of breakable items to pick up and throw. Every time the player walks, jumps, or drops something, they're able to use the resulting soundwaves to see their surroundings. The player looks for perpetual sounds such as speakers with a constant hum to save their progress and find their way out.

What Is My Role?

As the producer of Midnight Museum, I worked to make sure that we had time to fail and iterate so that our prototype could be the best it could be.

My responsibilities include:

  • Delegating tasks

  • Road mapping

  • Run daily stand-ups

  • Presented progress to professor

  • Playtesting

  • Giving feedback

  • Maintained Trello

  • Promoting iteration

Since these prototypes are made to be expanded on in capstone, I made sure our team was focused on fleshing out a mechanic. By focusing on creating a space that showcases the fun in the mechanic more than making a game, we leave ourselves more room to find a tight gameplay loop to build on in capstone.
