What Is It?

Deathmatch Island is a fast-paced game about a deadly gameshow on a mysterious island chain. The Adrift Isle of Deathmath Island New Horizons was made by a team of Bradley and Metropolitain assembled by Tim Hutchings. We were tasked with working together to create an island with ~14 locations and encounters that fit a shared theme. Our team created The Adrift Isle, and island where lost things inevitably end up.

What Is My Role?

I was one of the 6 students he chose across the different cohorts he'd worked with at Bradley. We collaborated over time zones with Metropolitain University students and create 1 cohesive island with encounters. We met to agree on a theme and key pillars of our island. We brainstormed cohesive locations and split them up amongst ourselves to develop further.

My responsibilities include:

  • Meeting across 6 hours time zone difference

  • Upholding a cohesive vision

  • Developing a location

  • Revising the team's work

  • Iterating

I wrote 2 locations, detailing the players initial impressions and information about any potential encounters.

After our initial pitches, we all reviewed and critiqued each other's work. Final edits were made by Evil Hat Productions.

I created the Hidden Village, a hillside riddled with train cars lost throught the decades tha thave been turned into homes.

I also created the Alter of the Lost, a place where people can sacrafice their prized possesions (trinkets and knick knacks you'd find in a gift shop) in hopes of gaining more resources.
